The SmokeStop Filter is an optional replacement for standard particle filtration in many existing Blueair purification units and comes pre-installed in the SmokeStop Unit version of select models. Containing 2 lbs. of coconut shell activated carbon impregnated with a 70/30 blend of potassium hydroxide and potassium iodide, the SmokeStop Filter is capable of eliminating harmful gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from indoor air. The SmokeStop filter for your 500 or 600 series Blueair air purifier is composed of a gradient structured filter with thermally bonded fiber containg polypropylene and polyethylene free of chemicals and binders. This composition makes these filters naturally anti-bacterial and resistant to fiber shedding.

The SmokeStop Filter is so named because of its ability to clear noxious fumes from the air.
